Gradually increase the amount of soup every day to the age-appropriate amount. For example, a normal portion of soup at lunch for a one-year-old child is 50 grams. Thus, the baby will not get to the usual plate at lunch soon.

What should be the first recipe?

In order for the soup to be correctly accepted by the child’s body, when it is decided to introduce it into the diet, you need to take into account several important rules:

  • The recipe should be simple and not contain too many ingredients, otherwise in the event of an allergic or other atypical reaction it will be difficult to determine its cause.

  • The first soup should be cooked in water. Do not use meat broths. They are harmful to babies.
  • Do not overuse spices, or better yet, do not use them. A little fresh garlic or onion, carrots, dill will give the dish a pleasant aroma. A few drops of lemon juice have a good effect on the taste of the soup.
  • Do not fry. It is generally better to forget this method of preparing food until the child is three years old.

What to cook from

So, we come to the conclusion that the first soup a child should try should be vegetable. However, not all vegetables can be included in the recipe without any doubt. Among the vegetables, there are those that are most suitable for the first complementary feeding, and there are no less useful vegetables that are better to wait with, as they can affect the child’s stool in a negative way - relax or strengthen it.

First of all, you can cook soups from zucchini, cauliflower and pumpkin. Then (not earlier than seven to eight months) you can give soups with carrots, potatoes, and peas.

When the baby is nine months old, beets are added. But vegetables such as eggplant, sweet peppers or tomatoes can only appear in soups that are prepared for a one-year-old child. Don't rush with the fish either. It is better to give it after a year. Use in cereal recipes. After a year, you can add noodles to the soup.

How to cook

For soup, it is better not to use tap water, but to buy special bottled drinking water for children. Do not cook too much soup. The “in reserve” option is not suitable for a child who is only a few months old. Be sure to prepare a fresh dish every day. Let's look at a few recipes.

Recipe 1. Vegetable soup for first feeding (6-7 months). For this simple soup you will need 100 grams of vegetables. You can use zucchini or cauliflower. Before cooking, vegetables must be thoroughly washed, peeled and cut into small pieces. Boil the vegetables until fully cooked and, without cooling, chop. Use a fine strainer or blender. Dilute the vegetable mass with the remaining broth and bring to a boil. The soup is seasoned with a small amount of butter. In addition to butter, you can use the ground yolk of a hard-boiled quail egg.

Recipe 2. Vegetable soup with meatballs (10-11 months). To prepare soup with meatballs, you can use lean veal, rabbit or turkey. You will need approximately 250 grams. It is better to grind the meat for meatballs twice, bringing the consistency of the minced meat closer to that used for preparing meat soufflé. You can add a little onion to the minced meat, previously grated on a fine grater. Add an egg to the minced meat. Form small meatballs and place them in boiling water. After boiling again, add potatoes and carrots, cut into small pieces. Cook the soup until the vegetables are ready. The soup can be served garnished with finely chopped herbs, or made into puree soup.

Most pediatricians agree that a child needs soup starting at about 6 months. The most important signal will be the first tooth that comes out.

A growing body begins to require a different diet, different nutrients. Mother's milk is no longer enough for the baby.

Meat or chicken broth

Lean beef or chicken – 10 g

Water – 400 ml

Parsley root – 5 g

Carrots – 10 g

We wash the beef meat in cold water, remove films and cut off the fat and fat into small pieces. Place the prepared meat in a saucepan and fill with cold water. The broth should be simmered over low heat for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally and skimming off the foam that forms during boiling.

Add salt, finely chopped onions, carrots, parsley root to the prepared broth, then, cover with a lid, and boil for another 5-10 minutes. Strain the finished broth through a strainer or double-folded gauze, skim off the floating fat on top and boil again.

This meat broth can be given to the child as a separate dish, seasoned with pureed vegetables or with croutons, or soups from cereals and vegetables can be prepared with this broth.

Chicken broth is prepared in the same way.

Vegetable puree soup

Cabbage – 20 g

Potatoes – 20 g

Carrots – 10 g

Water – 100 ml

Milk – 50 ml

Butter – 5 g

Wash peeled carrots, potatoes, white cabbage or cauliflower thoroughly in running water and chop finely. Then place the prepared vegetables in a saucepan, add water and cook over low heat until tender. We rub the hot prepared vegetables through a fine sieve along with the broth, add hot boiled milk, butter and salt, and, after mixing everything thoroughly, bring it to a boil again - the finished dish can be given to the baby.

Mashed potato soup

Potatoes – 200 g

Water – 200 ml

Milk – 100 ml

Butter – 5 g

Carrot juice – 5 ml

Salt

Wash the peeled potatoes thoroughly, chop them finely and, placing them in a saucepan, fill them with cold water. Cook the potatoes until tender over low heat, stirring regularly. Then pour the broth into a separate bowl, and rub the finished potatoes through a fine sieve. Add the drained broth, milk, salt to the resulting mashed potatoes and, after mixing everything thoroughly, bring to a boil again. You can optionally add butter or carrot juice to the finished dish.

Carrot and rice soup

Milk – 50 ml

Rice – 25 g

Carrots – 100 g

Butter – 5 g

Sugar

We cut well-peeled and washed carrots into small pieces and, putting them in a saucepan, pour boiling water, adding butter and sugar, and, closing the lid, bring to a boil. Then add the rice and cook the soup for 45-50 minutes, stirring occasionally. We rub the already boiled carrots and rice through a sieve, and add hot milk to the resulting puree, bringing the dish to the desired thickness. Then add salt to taste and boil again. You can add butter to the finished soup if desired.

Cauliflower and zucchini soup

Zucchini – 100 g

Cauliflower – 100 g

Egg (yolk) – ? PC

Water – 200 ml

Butter – 5 g

Finely chop the peeled and washed cauliflower into pieces. Peel the zucchini and chop it finely. Place the prepared vegetables in a saucepan, add boiling water and, cover with a lid, cook until tender. We pour the vegetable broth into a separate bowl, and rub the boiled vegetables through a fine sieve. Then dilute the mashed zucchini and cauliflower puree with the vegetable broth we left, add salt to taste and boil again. Add finely chopped yolk and butter to the prepared dish.

Puree rice soup

Rice – 10 g

Milk – 150 ml

Water – 200 ml

Butter – 3 g

Sugar

Salt

Pour well-washed sorted rice into boiling water and cook until tender. Then, discarding the rice, rub it through a sieve and dilute it with hot milk, adding sugar and salt to taste, and put it back on the fire until it boils. Add butter to the finished soup.

Liver soup

Liver – 50 g

Roll – 50 g

Vegetable broth – 200 ml

Milk – 50 ml

Egg (yolk) – ? PC

Butter – 5 g

Salt

We wash the liver well in cold water, remove the films from it and pass it through a meat grinder, adding a roll soaked in milk and yolk. Mix the resulting mass well and rub through a fine sieve. Then dip the prepared mass into boiling vegetable broth and cook for 10-15 minutes, adding salt at the end. Add butter to the prepared dish.

Meat puree soup

Meat – 100 g

Meat broth – 100 ml

Carrots – 20 g

Onion – 5 g

Parsley root – 10 g

Flour – 10 g

We wash the raw meat well and pass it through a meat grinder twice. In a saucepan, bring the prepared meat broth to a boil, add twisted minced meat and wheat flour, previously diluted in water, already prepared finely chopped carrots, onions and parsley roots. Mix this whole mass thoroughly, add salt and bring to a boil. Cook the meat soup for 25-30 minutes, then rub through a fine sieve and bring to a boil again. The dish is ready.

Chicken soup

Chicken meat – 70 g

Chicken broth – 200 ml

Milk – 50 ml

Onion – 5 g

Parsley root – 5 g

Flour – 5 g

Butter – 5g

Salt

Cook chicken broth by adding chopped onion and parsley roots. Then we pass the finished boiled meat through a meat grinder twice and pour it into boiling broth, seasoning it with flour mixed with butter. Next, add milk, salt and bring to a boil again. Puree chicken soup for your baby is ready.

Puree fish soup (from 10 - 11 months)

Cod fillet (pollock) - 100 g

Carrots – 20 g

Onion - 5 g

Potatoes (boiled) - 1/2 pcs.

Cook the vegetables in a small saucepan until tender. Remove skin and bones from the fish. Place the fish in a saucepan with vegetables and cook for about 5 minutes. until ready. Make a puree from vegetables and fish using a blender or mixer, dilute with a small amount of boiled milk.

Broccoli soup

broccoli – 100 g

potatoes – 1 pc.

butter – 10 g.

Wash the potatoes and broccoli and boil them separately. Beat the prepared vegetables using a blender. Place in a saucepan, add some salt, butter or boiled milk.

Cauliflower and zucchini puree soup

cauliflower - 50 g

zucchini - 50 g

yolk -1/4 pcs

butter 3 g

Peel the cauliflower and zucchini, cut into small pieces, pour boiling water over them, and cook under a tightly closed lid until tender. Pour the broth into a separate bowl. Rub hot vegetables through a sieve or chop with a blender, combine with the broth, add a little salt and bring to a boil. Season the finished soup with butter, mashed with yolk.
